Vitamin E is known as an antioxidant and strives to reduce free radicals in our body. Other nutrients, including Vitamin C, B3, and selenium , are also known to eleviate oxidative stress.
For most adults, 12 to 15mg of Vitamin E is sufficient to meet the daily requirement. Upper limit for adults is 1000mg. Supplements can be taken, but many foods contain adequate amounts of this vitamin, including cooking oils.
Best foods include almonds with 25mg per 100g, salmon portion with 16mg, and wheat germ oil with 20mg per 1 tablespoon. Also, try trout, spinach, avocado, dry roasted peanuts, fatty fish, margarine, safflower oil and, grapeseed oil.
Peanut butter provides another source, with 2 1/2 tablespoons meeting the RDA.
